Domainmonster.com confirms new .tel domains as largest web launch ever
Domainmonster.com today confirm their pre-orders for the .tel web address are up more than 400% on any single previous gTLD (Global Top Level Domain Name) launch.
As the 2nd largest registrar worldwide for the most recent gTLD launch of .asia last year, Domainmonster.com have participated in all recent domain name launches, where premium names are frequently sold for more than 100K US Dollars. .tel is the last launch in the currently approved ICANN gTLD’s.
".tel is first come first served; no exceptions" commented Matt Mansell, CEO, Domainmonster.com. "Unlike recent launches the general public are able to participate at both Landrush (Premium) and General Availability (Regular) stages without needing to fight in high value auctions to secure their desired name".
With just one day to go until .tel opens to the public at the Landrush stage on 3rd February at 15:00 UTC, the .tel domain is being labelled as the Yellow Pages killer, with inclusive functionally to structure contact data on the web.
Matt Mansell commented further; ".tel domains are the most inventive use of the webs DNS this century. Essentially storing contact data using the DNS in named meta pairs, they use a totally defined format with user elective privacy. Never before has a Search Engine been able to precisely determine contact data as it crawls the web. I have no doubt they will be of enormous value to Search Engines for optimising results".
