A dispute has opened over a domain name relating to the Canadian region of Nunavut. "NunavutTourism.com" was registered by lawyer Madaleine Redfern in her own name rather than that of her employer Nunavut Tourism, and the company claims that this was a breach of her contract. A federal Liberal candidate, Kirt Ejesiak, has also been brought into the dispute, as Nunavut Tourism claims that one or both of these two individuals has attempted to obtain money for the use of the Domain Name. Ejesiak's company, Uqsiq Communications, claimed ownership of the domain name, and Ejesiak allegedly demanded $10,000 for its return. The dispute resolution is intended to continue in court on 16th January 2008.
