.NET Domain Registrations hit 15 Million!

Verisign, the registry for a number of generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) including .COM and .NET, have just announced a huge milestone for the .NET TLD.

There are now over 15 million .net domain names registered!

That’s a great achievement for Verisign!

They said:

“Recently, .net hit a major milestone when its zone surpassed 15 million .net domains registered globally, making it one of the most popular domain extensions on the Internet today. Supported by the same infrastructure and expertise that has powered .com for more than 15 years, .net is recognized around the world as an established and credible place to interact online.”

To celebrate this great domain name milestone, Verisign have released an Infographic which gives us a number of interesting facts about .net domain names.
