Increase in .us Domain Registration
The somewhat unpopular American ccTLD, .us, has finally seen a boost in popularity over the last few months. One registrar reported an increase of 12% in .us registrations. One suggested reason for the surge in .us registrations is the declining numbers of meaningful .com domains available to new registrants. The .us domain is also gaining credibility as a trusted local Domain Name, as are the various second-level domains available for the individual American states, which give web users an idea of where a website’s administration is located.
