This week saw the news that Apple have secured the very personal domain "me.com". Put that next to their recent trademark applications for apple.me and itunes.me and it's pretty obvious they’ve got a "me" strategy!

So, is the new me domain name launch going to be the one to have? From our pre-orders to date at Domainmonster.com, we think it certainly is! More importantly, we think its going to be the biggest country code domain launch ever, putting its owners, the country of Montenegro firmly on the map!!

With just 24 hours left until Landrush commences this Friday (6th June) @ 17:00 UTC/18:00 BST, we would thoroughly recommend getting your orders in early to avoid the rush. Landrush runs for just over two weeks and is the first opportunity for the general public to order their .me domain name. There are no restrictions for this domain at all; its open to everyone!

You’ve got to be in it to win it!

During the landrush period, the registry have determined that multiple applications can be made. If more than one application is made there will be an auction with the highest bidder winning following the landrush period. If there is only one application, that applicant gets the domain with no auction.

During the same auction period for the recent .asia launch, over 90% were single applicants with names like kylie.asia, cadburys.asia and indianajones.asia never even reaching an auction (Only one applicant). For the names that did go to auction, we saw some amazing bargains with examples such as michaeljackson.asia, wendys.asia and asda.asia all selling for the $10 .asia minimum bid.
