ICANN have published their fourth Annual Report on the InterNIC Whois Data Problem Report System and announced Data Accuracy and Availability Audits. Recently ICANN have launched a new program addressing compliance issues related to Whois. This includes a yearly Whois audit on data accuracy, monitoring of the servers for functionality and annual publication of stats from the Whois Data Problem Report System (WDPRS).

This new program pursues Whois compliance by gTLD registrars and is intended to improve Whois accuracy. The information describes the existing ICANN efforts to address issues regarding Whois; the purpose of the program; descriptions of Whois audits which ICANN will commence over 2007; and a summary of WDPRS statistics in 2006. ICANN requests comments referring to this program and continues considering Whois-related compliance matters.
