How Long Will New gTLDs at ICANN be Delayed For?
New gTLDs were promised as a major attraction at the 29th San Juan ICANN meeting. Another progress report was delivered following the .XXX web address debacle and coverage in Berlin. The Board room was full with those wishing to hear the updates for new gTLDs which could complement .TLD Travel, TLD .Asia, .Mobi, .Info, etc.
Kurt Pritz discussed the dispute resolution choice of the gTLD. ICANN has set up a public forum for strong community members to voice congratulations or concerns. It was stated that under the policy, the selection of gTLDs would probably not be possible within 18 months.
