ICANN (International Committee for Assigned Names and Numbers) is holding the second of its two regional outreach meetings scheduled for 2008. The first of these meetings was held in Taipei on October 19-21st 2007.

The second regional meeting is to be held in Dubai from the 1st to 3rd April 2008. The purpose of the meeting is for policy makers, the managers of country code top-level domains and Internet businesses in the region. The schedule of the meeting is designed to address three main themes, an introduction to the ICANN multi-stakeholder model, challenges and opportunities in the registry and registrar business and finally an introduction and discussion of internationalised domain names. ICANN staff is coordinating with regional organisations (including the APTLD) regarding participation.
