EURid Blocks One Registrant's 10,000 .eu Domains
Domain registrant Zheng Qingyin has had her 10,000 or so .eu Domain Names suspended by the .eu registry, EURid, pending a decision about whether her registration of the domains was legitimate. EURid has turned to the courts to ascertain whether Ms Qingyin is indeed a European citizen or trading in the EU, as is required to legitimately register a .eu domain name.
Ms Qingyin has responded by asking the courts to force EURid to return herdomains to her control, but if the court rules that she does not have a right to the domains, they may be deleted and made available for the public to purchase.
