Soon after a successful auction appearance in 2006 when .mobi domain names sold for a combined total of just under US$400,000, dotMobi is auctioning 15 premium names.

On March 7, dotMobi will auction a select group of domains at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. WEST 2007 in Las Vegas. The .mobi domains scheduled for auction are: airfare, areacodes, cam, casinos, creditscore, directions, eat, libre, loancalculator, models, newmusic, pics, pizza, realestate and singles. These are subject to change at dotMobi’s discretion.

These names join the 400,000 .mobi domains that have been registered since General Domain Registration commenced on October 11, 2006.

"Last October, the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. auction put three .mobi Domain Names into the Top 15 emerging domain sales for 2006. The dotMobi Premium Names list is a compilation of commonly used words and phrases which dotMobi has set aside for equitable allocation as an alternate to the traditional “first come, first serve” procedure. These will be distributed in batches through 2008 using both auction and Request for Proposals (RFP) processes.
