Domainfest Amsterdam 2007
On May 16-17, 2007 the first ever DOMAINfest auction will be held at the Hilton Amsterdam Hotel. The two-day regional seminar and networking event was created to respond domainers operating in Europe. Los Angeles, CA, DomainSponsor, Oversee.net’s domain monetisation business and organising sponsor in Amsterdam, announced the speaker line-up.
Dr. Liz Williams, Senior Policy Counselor, ICANN, will be a keynote speaker. Dr. Williams is based in Brussels and leads ICANN’s policy development activities relating to introduction of new top level domains and policies for contractual conditions. She is an international affairs specialist with a doctorate for information technology and law.
"We are delighted to have Dr. Liz Williams speak. Our program features many great minds all adding to the stimulating sessions and intense networking that are part of this event. The support we have received from our European colleagues is exciting.", says Ron Sheridan, Director of Business Development for DomainSponsor.
The agenda begins with discussions of The Domain Aftermarket. Experts will share perspectives on forces at play in European after-markets, hear about price stabilisation versus price acceleration in dotcom and dotnet Domain Names. Nora Cotter (Sedo) and Richard Martin (NICIT) will take part.
TLD updates will be discussed by Pinky Brand (dotMobi), Klemens Pidner (nic.at), and Leona Chen (DotAsia) in an opportunity to learn about leadership and growth in the area.
Paul Keating (Renova Ltd), Christian Kerschbaum and John Berryhill will discuss everything about risk management: trademarks, typos, cybersquatting and intellectual property rights. Attendees will learn about selling domains to large corporations and listen to discussions of risks in registering .de domains.
Global Domain Experts will share perspectives on building successful business around the Domain Name system. Markus Schnermann (KeywordDomains), Emiliano Pasqualetti (DomainsBot) and Xavier Buck (EuroDNS) bring individual perspectives to discussions. Sean Moriarty (Yahoo) will focus on monetising European traffic.
DOMAINfest Amsterdam marks premiering the first ever DOMAINfest Auction with over 1,000 domains already submitted. DOMAINfest and DomainSponsor have partnered with NICIT (a leader in the German-speaking aftermarket) to bring attendees quality domain names for bidding in a live auction. Participants can submit domains, pre-bid and bid during the auction, on May 17, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. (Central European Time).
