The domain and internet industry saw the second largest payment ever made for an internet Domain Name. Porn.com was sold by Moniker to MXN LTD for the sum of $9.5 million.

The domain rights were gained during a domain auction which showed a very significant increase in value from the price paid for the domain back in 1997 of $47,000. Sex.com still remains the most expensive domain to be bought at a staggering $12 million, the largest cash domain sale ever made.

Moniker has sold a number of noun domains over the last few years including scores.com for $1.2 million and cameras.com for £1.5 million. Moniker also currently have poker.com which is believed could earn Moniker over $20 million once the auction has completed
