In a 2007 survey by Domain Name Wire, it was found that there was a slight decrease in satisfaction with ICANN.

Last years survey declared approval at 33% but this year went down to 24%. 50% were satisfied with ICANNs performance although 26% declared it poor. The decline in satisfaction could possibly be due to unpopular new contracts with registries or their failure to act to the implosion for RegisterFlys domain registrars.

It was also mentioned that the most popular domain choice when ‘.com’ is taken was ‘.net’ with 73% of votes.
