Moniker's Domain Auction Ends

The combined sales of Moniker's live and silent auctions, which ended on the 12th and 17th of this month respectively, totalled more than USD$680,000. Moniker has pioneered the domain auction model, having sold almost USD$40million-worth of domain names over three years. One top seller was passover.com, which fetched USD$100,000. The live auction was conducted at the Affiliate Summit East in the Hotel Intercontinental, Miami, Florida. Monte Cahn, co-founder and CEO of Moniker.com, said, "we expect the demand for domains within the affiliate market to grow considerably in the near term." Missy Ward, co-founder of the Affiliate Summit, added, "Affiliate marketers know the value of virtual real-estate and are looking forward to attending future auctions at our upcoming events."

The Moniker Domain Name auction gave attendees at the Summit the opportunity to learn how domain names could be a valuable tool for online marketing. Cahn pointed out the value of type-in traffic from generic domain names, and boosted search engine rankings from relevant domain names.

Moniker plans more auctions for various other upcoming events, including Internext, T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East, GeoDomain Expo, and others. More details for those wishing to submitDomain Names for auction, or those wishing to attend events, can be found on the Moniker website www.moniker.com/auction.
