Now that website technology supports domain names with Chinese characters, many of Chinese companies and netizens are cheering the upcoming Spring Festival in a new way.

xperts say, Domain Names in Chinese are more intuitive for Chinese users. And as the website technology now fully supports the domain names in Chinese characters, there has been a spike in the number of such domain names during this Spring Festival period.

Li Xiaodong, Chief technology officer of China Internet Network Information Center, said "Chinese domain names incorporate traditional Chinese culture. We can extend traditional greetings through Chinese domain names. So celebrating the New Year with a new Chinese Domain Name can be very meaningful, and it's fashionable too."

Statistics show, since January this year, more than 1,000 people per day are registering Chinese domain names. And this number is growing quickly as the New Year approaches.
