ccTLDs - Domain Names In The Republic of Cameroon

According to a report in The Times the Republic of Cameroon is making a lot of money from people mistyping '.com’ on websites and being re-directed to non-existent web domains.

To state the obvious, '.com' and '.cm' are identical apart from the letter 'o' in .com. Internet users who type in the domain name .cm will be redirected to ‘agoga.com’ which is an advertising page. A deal was arranged last year for this set up with Kevin Ham who is estimated to hold 300, 000 Domain Names.
