Apple's finally made their me domain name move and un-veiled their new mobileme strategy at me.com

Replacing their popular mac.com strategy, users visting the me.com domain name will now be prompted to log-in using their .Mac member name and existing .Mac password and move onto the new mobile me service based at their new .me domain.

Reports are suggesting that Apple will be releasing an update for OS X to support Mobile Me and that this will be release through Apples Software Update in due course. Mobile Me is Apple's upgraded .Mac service, offering a range of powerful new features including push email and over the air sync of data, including calendar and contact details.

The new publically available .ME domain name is due to move to its final Open Registration stage, this Thursday 17th July 2008. Clearly Apples strategy couldn't be better timing to support this popular launch.
