Domainmonster awarded 1st .CO Domain Accreditation for the UK

Mesh Digital’s Domainmonster.com and Domainbox.com domain name registrar brands, today announced their accreditation as the 1st .CO accredited registrar head quartered in the United Kingdom.

The move follows a long standing partnership with Colombian registrar Dominio Amigo that has allowed Mesh to be at the forefront of .CO domain registrations since the global launch in July 2010.

"Accrediting Domainmonster.com was a logical next step as we grow the .CO domain space beyond a million domains in a multitude of regions worldwide including the UK", commented Crystal Peterson, Director of Channel Marketing, .CO Internet S.A.S. "Additionally, the recent addition of their wholesale brand Domainbox.com provides an innovative platform to the reseller community, strategically well aligned for how the Domain industry is innovating today", she continued.

.CO Domains launched in July 2010 and have recently surpassed 1 million registrations becoming the fastest growing global domain extension in recent history. Global brands such as Twitter are using the T.CO URL to wrap over 38 million tweets per day and more recently, the Oakland Raiders’ coliseum, an US American Football team, was rebranded to be named the O.CO Coliseum through a deal with the online retail giant Overstock.

"We are enormously excited to be joining .CO as an officially accredited registrar”, commented Matt Mansell, CEO, Domainmonster.com. “We’ve worked very closely with their entire team during the launch last year and we’re delighted to be recognised as a key partner for their continued growth", he continued.

During last year’s launch, Domainmonster.com secured more .CO domain names for its customers than any other partner in the all-important first 10 minutes of the first come first served general public domain launch. Securing the coveted No. 1 spot during the opening minutes, Domainmonster.com secured key generic, dictionary and place names fulfilling pre-orders with a success rate of more than 90%, as the launch continued.
